What is Stamp Duty?
All properties above £60,000 have this 'stamp duty' added by the government. If your house is taxed between £60,000 and £250,000 you will be charged 1% of the actual purchase price. Any thing below £500,000 will be charged 3%. Buying a property for about £100,000 will mean that you will have to fork out £1000 for the stamp duty.
On most application forms it is common to have to give your personal details. Do not be afraid, all applicants have to do this. Credit checks require you to give out your details of any of previous addresses. This includes where you've lived over the last 3 years and the actual dates you lived there.
This extra documentation will be needed with your fees and costs. Double check the information in your forms as mistakes will lengthen the process.
